Schneedrift am Berggrat in den Österreichischen Alpen | Snow drift at the mountain ridge in the Austrian alps
Eigentlich vermeidet man ja Photos bei hochstehender Sonne mittags um 13 Uhr; und man meidet in der Regel direkt in die Sonne zu fotografieren. An diesem Tag, einem der zwei Sonnentage im November im Skigebiet Obergurgl in den Ötztaler Alpen kam beides zusammen – und genau das machte den Reiz aus. Vom starken Wind aufgewirbelter Schnee zog über den benarchbarten Berggrat und wurde von der Sonne hell durchstrahlt, welche auf dem Hang zu mir hin mit starken Schlagschatten die Konturen des Berges hervorhob. Bei diesem Bild bot sich die Konvertierung in Schwarzweiss an, um die Strukturen und Kontraste noch stärker hervortreten zu lassen.
Normally you wouldn’t capture photos at midday with blazing sun; and you avoid typically to capture against the straight against the sun. At that day, one of the two sunny days in november in the skiing area Obergurgl in the Ötztal alps both came together – and that exactly made up the charm. Snow ahwhirled by the wind drafted over the neighboring mountain ridge and was lightened by the sun, that emphasized with its drop shadows the slopes. This picture was predestinated to convert it into black and white to accentuate the structures and contrasts even more.
